Knights Golf comes up short

The Knights were on the road again this season to Hartley Hills to battle with conference foe, Hagerstown. The rough was brutal and very difficult to find a golf ball if you hit offline at all. Hagerstown came out with the victory 168 to 177. Hayden Chalfant had the best round of his high school career and medalist honors with a 1under par 35. Hayden has hit the ball beautifully all year long and his wedges and putter have been inconsistent. Tonight it came together. He birdied 4, 5, and 6 to get to -2. Hit a great iron to 18 feet on 7 and lipped out for 4 in a row. Unfortunately missed the comeback putt and and parred his last. Brady Geis and Landon Scarrette were 44 and 46 on the evening. Scarrette had an unfortunate 10 on the par 5, 6th. A very difficult hole that requires a lay up tee shot and then shot over water. The hole got our team tonight. Brady continued to play consistently. Landon Helms and Brandt Benjamin both struggled with 52 and 56 respectively. Our JV really struggled on the evening. Jordan Dance shot 59, Larkin Blanford with 65 and Clayton Garringer 69. Knights at Highland tomorrow for an away match against Centerville.
